Scholarships

 

The Dance Program awards scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,500 per academic year. In addition, the Mary Ella Montague Endowed Scholarship is awarded to the outstanding returning Dance major each year and the Kelley Barber Award is given annually to a Dance major for outstanding performance.

 

BA/BFA Scholarships

 

Performance scholarships from $250.00 to $1,500.00 are available to students who:

  1. Qualify in terms of dance ability.
  2. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.8 and a 3.0 in dance classes.
  3. Qualify for and enroll in Intermediate or Advanced Modern Dance Technique and Intermediate or Advanced Ballet Technique
  4. Fulfill all performance assignments.

 

MFA Scholarships

 

Performance scholarships from $250.00 to $1,500.00 are available to students who:

  1. Qualify in terms of dance ability.
  2. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0 in classes.
  3. Qualify for and enroll in Advanced Modern Dance Technique and Advanced Ballet Technique
  4. Fulfill all performance assignments

 

Academic Scholarships

 

The Sam Houston State University Academic Scholarship program provides financial support for beginning, transfer and current students baased on financial need or outstanding academic achievement.
