SHSU is actually closer to Bush Intercontinental Airport than many areas of the Houston metroplex and I- 45 provides direct access from both the Houston and Dallas areas. Plus, we are just a few miles from an outstanding recreational area, the Huntsville State Park.

  • SHSU provides individual ethernet connections in all residence hall rooms and wireless points throughout campus. Computer labs offer laser printing for no additional fees. Find out more about Computer Services and your computer account to see what you have access to.
• Do you want choices in Housing?

  • For beginning first-year students, one academic year (fall and spring
    semester) of on-campus residence is required.  Specialties include
    single-sex, coed, Honors, living/learning communities, and sorority housing.
    All housing is air-conditioned.  Only current year high school graduates are
    required to live in University Housing the first year after high school.

• Do you want to get involved?
  • The student activities include: Intercollegiate sports, band, recreational sports, fraternities, sororities, student government, ROTC, cheering, and lots of other organizations.
